A label is the cheapest piece of organisation there is. A jar you can read from across the kitchen gets used; a box that says what is in it does not get opened and repacked every autumn.

These are designed to print on sticker paper or plain card, in the brand's plain type so they sit quietly on a shelf. The blanks and box labels are the ones you will come back for.

What is inside

  • Pantry jar labels: flour, sugar, rice, oats, pasta, lentils, coffee, tea, baking soda, salt, nuts and more
  • Closet and bin labels: winter sweaters, summer clothes, coats, linens, towels, keepsakes, holiday, cables, gift wrap, to donate, to repair, kids' clothes
  • Box labels with a line for contents, a stored-on date and a location

Who it is for

Anyone decanting a pantry into jars, packing seasonal clothes into bins, or trying to find the Christmas lights without opening four identical boxes.

How to use it

  1. Print on full-sheet sticker paper, or on card and attach with paper tape or string.
  2. Cut on the dashed lines. A ruler and craft knife give the cleanest edge.
  3. For boxes, fill in the contents and the date. Future you will read the date first.

FAQ

Questions about this printable

What paper should I use?

Full-sheet adhesive label paper for jars and bins; plain card for box labels you want to tie on or slide into a holder. Ordinary printer paper works too if you fix the label with paper tape.

Can I edit the labels?

The PDF is fixed, but every page includes blanks with a line to write on, and the box labels are designed to be filled in by hand.

Will they stick to glass jars?

On label paper, yes, if the jar is clean and dry. Wipe the glass with a little rubbing alcohol first and press the label down from the centre out to avoid bubbles.
