wood-blocks
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
This policy explains what information wood-blocks collects when you use www.wood-blocks.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific: it describes what this website actually does, not a template.
Who we are
wood-blocks is an independent website of practical guides, free tools and printables about storing clothes, natural cleaning and running a greener home. You can reach us about anything in this policy at contact@wood-blocks.com or through our contact page.
Information you give us
Newsletter and free printables
When you sign up for The Sunday Ring newsletter or download a free printable, we store your email address, which sign-up form you used (for example, the printable you asked for) and the date. We use it to send you the printable and our newsletter: one practical email a week. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you at any time.
Contact form and email
When you send a message through our contact form, we store your name, email address, the topic you chose and your message, along with the date. We use them to reply to you, and we keep our email conversation with you so we can follow up on it. If you pitch a guest post, the same applies to your pitch and draft.
Buying a paid guide
Our paid guides are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which takes the payment as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your payment and billing details under its own privacy policy; we never see or store your card details. From Lemon Squeezy we receive your name, email address, country, what you bought, the price and the date, and we use them to deliver your guide, answer questions about your order and give refunds. If you join a launch waitlist on a guide's page, we store your email and which guide you are waiting for, and email you when it launches.
Guest post fees
If a guest post is accepted, we send payment details for the editorial fee described on our Write for us page. Payments are handled by the payment provider we name at that time. We do not see or store your card details.
Information collected automatically
Our own visit counter
We count page views with our own simple counter. It records which page was viewed, the day, and the website you came from (only its domain name, such as google.com). It sets no cookies and does not store your IP address or anything else that identifies you.
The same counter adds up how often our paid guide cards are seen and clicked, and how often a buy button is clicked, as daily totals per guide. Like page views, these counts set no cookies and contain nothing that identifies you. Each buy button also tells Lemon Squeezy which button it was, so that an order shows which part of the site it came from.
Site search
When you use the search on our site, we record the words you searched for and how many results they found, so we can improve our guides. Searches are not linked to you.
Server logs
Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records technical information about requests to the site, such as IP address, browser type and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running, and are kept only for a short time.
Cookies and similar technology
Cookies we set
- Session cookie. Protects our forms against misuse and remembers that you have unlocked a printable during your visit. It is deleted when you close your browser.
Settings stored only in your browser
Your choice of light or dark mode and your recent searches on our site are saved in your browser's local storage so they are there next time. This information stays on your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
Third-party analytics and advertising
- Google Analytics 4 uses cookies to tell us how visitors find and use the site. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram) uses cookies to measure visits from Meta's apps and to help show our content and ads to people who may find them useful. See Meta's privacy policy and manage ad settings in your Meta account.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics counts visits without cookies.
Visitors in the UK, the EU and Switzerland
If you visit from the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, Google Analytics and the Meta pixel stay switched off until you choose Accept in the cookie banner. If you choose Reject, they never load. We remember your choice in your browser for 12 months, and you can change it at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Ahrefs Web Analytics and our own visit counter use no cookies and run either way.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without cookies, except that forms will ask you to send them again and a printable you unlock will not stay unlocked.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never sell, rent or trade our subscriber list. We share information only with companies that help us run the site, and only as needed:
- our hosting provider, which stores the site and its database;
- Lemon Squeezy, which sells and delivers our paid guides;
- the email services we use to send our newsletter and replies to your messages;
- Google, Meta and Ahrefs, through the analytics and advertising tools described above;
- authorities, if the law requires it.
Your privacy rights in the United States
Depending on the state you live in, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and others with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct information that is wrong;
- have your personal information deleted;
- opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising.
Our use of the Meta pixel may count as "sharing" for targeted advertising under some state laws. To opt out, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser or a privacy extension: when your browser sends that signal, our site does not load the Meta pixel. You can also email us with the subject "Do not sell or share" and we will make sure your information is not shared for advertising.
To use any of these rights, email contact@wood-blocks.com. We may need to confirm it is really you, for example by replying to the email address you signed up with. We respond within 45 days, and we will never treat you differently for using your rights. You can also ask someone to make a request on your behalf.
Emails from us
We only send our newsletter to people who signed up for it or for a free printable. Every newsletter shows who it is from and includes a working unsubscribe link, and we remove you promptly when you use it. If you write to us, we reply to that conversation only.
How long we keep information
- Newsletter and printable sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Messages and our replies: for as long as we need them to deal with your question, and then only as long as is reasonable for our records. Ask us and we will delete them sooner.
- Orders for paid guides: as long as we need them for tax and accounting records, which is usually several years.
- Search terms: up to 13 months.
- Visit counts: up to 25 months.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), our database is not publicly accessible, and only our team can sign in to manage the site. No method of storing information online is completely secure, but we take reasonable care to protect what you share with us.
Children
wood-blocks is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
This site is written for readers in the United States. If you visit from elsewhere, including the UK or the European Union, you have rights over your personal information under your local laws, such as access, correction and deletion. Email us and we will help.
Other websites, including our shop
Our guides link to other websites, including our shop, mothrepellent.co.uk. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so in our newsletter.
